2017 Kidding Schedule

Here’s our breeding schedule for the does; and the doe’s due date, the buck she was bred to, freshening date, and availability of kids will be updated as the dates become confirmed. Prices on doelings start at $400, bucklings at $300, and wethers are $100. All of our goats are registered with the ADGA.

If you’d like to be on a reservation list for a kid, let us know which breeding you’re interested in and we’ll put you on that list. We reserve the right to retain any kids born at The 104 Homestead. It doesn’t cost anything to go on a reservation list, but once the kids are born, I contact those on the waiting list (by the date reserved) quickly and need a decision as to whether you want the kid. If so, then 1/2 the purchase price is due, or if not, I move on to the next person on that reservation list.

Kids are held for 8 weeks. We do not promote bottle raising unless there are extenuating circumstances. We maintain a closed herd so our does (and their offspring) remain disease free.

April 10, 2017 No Triplet does with the same breeding last season. Fingers crossed she can do it again! A doe or buck will be retained.

Abby was late to the game (having not been bred for the first time until she was nearly 5 years old), but she did an excellent job. She easily gave birth to triplet does at her former home. Her doelings were bottle raised so Abby could come live with us. She enjoyed playing with the kids on our farm and we are excited about giving her the opportunity to dam-raise this year. We intend to retain a doeling or buckling.

Not available. N/A Having some trouble arranging things, but we are still hopeful about spring babies.

Sadie and Elk made some beautiful kids last year and we are hoping they can do it again. We retained both does and sold the wether. The wether was a beautiful boy and it was hard to let him go. He was chocolate with a big white “postage stamp” on one side.
